Anna Chapman is a super-fat, queer fat activist, creator, strategist, and size inclusion educator based in Portland, Oregon. She has been consistently fighting for inclusion for the better part of the last decade and it was only going to be a matter of time before my ode to her!
Why Anna’s Revered
- Works directly with brands to advocate for fat inclusion
- Encourages fat women to be active and find “joy in movement”
Work with Joyn
She worked with the Joyn app (in partnership with Nike) from 2017-2021 to help ensure fat creators were represented in movement/fitness spaces, developing accessible, joyful movement content. The app’s MO was to create “joyful” content and exercises for plus size people, and Anna was a key driving force behind the app’s growth.
Finding joy in movement
Anna loves finding joy in all movement; she is an accessible yoga instructor and in 2016 she founded Body Love Yoga, a community focused on body liberation. She offered weekly classes, workshops, and special events with fat movement creators.
Nowadays, Anna has branched out even further, exploring her body’s strength through weightlifting with a size-inclusive trainer (which we love!) and she’s even posted videos of her boxing. Seeing Anna’s body in movement is wonderful to watch, not only aesthetically but also for pure inspiration.
Anna’s Style
I would probably define Anna as a superfat hippie! She actually dies and sells tie-dye garments on her website. Obviously, she designs these for fat bodies and the pieces are also gender neutral.
Anna may have taken inspiration from her fellow plus size designer, Shawna Farmer (aka Chubby Cartwheels) who we’ve also profiled on our site. Both women are confident, superfat babes from the Pacific Northwest.
Where can I find her?
Anna has so many ventures, and inspires me so much with all her content! Here’s where you can find her online:
