Kari Geissberger is a professional volleyball player known for her exceptional height and dominant presence at the net. Currently playing as a middle blocker for Suwon Hyundai E&C Hillstate in South Korea’s V-League, she’s transitioned from a highly decorated collegiate career in the United States to the pro stage.
Embracing Her Height
Why did I refer to Kari as a “New-American Amazon” in the title? The more you follow Kari and see what she posts about, the more you understand that she loves her natural height. In the body positive age, we are starting to see women like Kari actively promote the good life of being tall, which is a stark contrast to previous generations of tall women who have often hidden from their height, or at least tried not to draw attention to it.
Kari uses her TikTok and Instagram to promote height-positive content, and should be lauded for this.
Her posts are often humorous, such as one about dating where she said “He saw I’m a tall girl, and said don’t worry, I’m 6’2”” before laughing that she was a full 5 inches taller.
In another post, Kari plays around with a quote that many tall women do actually wish was true: “Sometimes I wish I was 5 feet tall and 115lbs” before saying “Oh wait… just kidding.”

Using humor to project her alpha height energy is a real talent! Kari revels in her height, and she is gathering a dedicated following online because of her rare confidence in it.
Given her Amazonian proportions, many of her followers encourage her to pursue high-fashion modeling alongside her volleyball career, often commenting, “You belong on a runway.” It’s not something I disagree with! She could absolutely be someone who follows in the steps of women like tall Ekaterina Lisina or Natalia Vieru.

Kari has given somewhat conflicting messages over her height. She is mostly listed as 6 foot 7, but on some of her posts she puts herself as 6’6”. Yet, she also puts herself at 201cm, which converts to 6’7”. It is safe to assume Kari is 6 foot 7, as this is what multiple sources report, and she truly towers over everyone she stands next to!

Kari’s volleyball achievements rival even her height and size for impressiveness!
At Marin Catholic high school, Geissberger set the record for most kills in a single season and was a three-time All-American.
She went on to play four years at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) before completing a fifth year at the University of Oklahoma.

- All-American Status: Named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American in 2022.
- WCC Dominance: Three-time All-WCC First Team selection.
- Statistical Milestone: Surpassed 1,000 career kills during her time with the Lions, leading the team in scoring and blocks multiple seasons.

- Earned All-SEC Second Team and All-Region Honorable Mention honors.
Suwon Hyundai E&C Hillstate
In the Korean V-League, Kari has immediately become one of the most physically imposing players on the court.
Most domestic Korean players at her position average between 180–185 cm, giving her a 15–20 cm (6–8 inch) height advantage over her direct blockers.
Kari immediately formed what some refer to as a “Twin Towers” defensive wall alongside South Korean legend Yang Hyo-jin, who herself is 6’3”. Together, they create one of the most difficult nets to penetrate in not only South Korean, but all of professional volleyball.
Geissberger’s volleyball success and height-positive attitude are strikingly similar to another woman we profiled on Her Size Revered, Alana Renaud. With social media being more prevalent nowadays, as well as more readily available tall woman clothing brands, it’s possible that Kari could eclipse Alana’s popularity in the tall admirer community.
Preferences: Short Kings or Taller Guys?
Speaking of admirers, Kari’s natural alpha energy when it comes to her height lends me to believe she would consider dating a guy shorter than her, as she is so confident in herself she wouldn’t seem to care about a difference, but she hasn’t specifically mentioned anything publicly about her dating life.
For now, we should all be grateful we get to see the journey of a new “American Amazon” in such candid settings.
